How we handle your data.

The short version: We collect the minimum data needed to operate the service. We don't sell it. We don't train AI models on it. We don't share it with advertisers. Documents you submit for analysis are processed in memory and discarded after the verdict is delivered, unless you choose to save them to your account.

1. What we collect

When you visit the website

Your email address, only if you submit it to the early-access list.
Anonymous analytics about page visits (page views, referring site, country) via our analytics provider.
Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, request timestamps) that are retained for 30 days for security and operations.

When you use the Verdict service (post-launch)

Documents you submit for analysis. These are processed in memory and not retained after the verdict is delivered, unless you actively save the verdict to your account history.
Your account information: email address, hashed password (or third-party auth identifier), subscription status, and timezone.
Your verdict history, if you are on the Pro tier and choose to save verdicts.
Payment information, processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

2. How we use your data

The email you submit to the early-access list is used for exactly one purpose: to send you a single message when Verdict launches. We do not send newsletters, marketing emails, or any other communications without your explicit opt-in.
Documents you submit are processed by our AI provider to generate a verdict. The documents are not retained beyond that processing.
Analytics data helps us understand which pages and features are used so we can improve the product.
Account information is used to provide the service you've subscribed to.

3. Who we share data with

We use the following third-party services to operate Verdict:

Email capture and delivery: Formspree (early-access list) and a transactional email service (account notifications).
Analytics: A privacy-preserving analytics provider that does not use cookies or build cross-site profiles.
Payment processing: Stripe handles all payment information directly.
AI document analysis: Anthropic processes the documents you submit. Anthropic's enterprise data policy does not train models on submitted content.
Hosting: Our infrastructure provider stores account data in encrypted form at rest.

We do not sell your data. We do not share data with advertisers. We do not use your data to train AI models.

4. Your rights

You can:

Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
Unsubscribe from the early-access list at any time.
Opt out of analytics tracking.

5. Data retention

Early-access email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe or until 30 days after launch (after which inactive entries are purged).
Account information is retained while your account is active, plus 30 days after closure for billing reconciliation.
Verdict history is retained while you have an active Pro subscription, then 30 days after cancellation.
Analytics data is retained for 12 months in aggregate, non-identifiable form.
Server logs are retained for 30 days.

6. Cookies

The marketing site (this page and the homepage) does not use any cookies. The Verdict application uses a session cookie strictly for authentication. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party tracking pixels.

7. Children

Verdict is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe we have collected data from a child, contact us and we will delete it.

8. International users

Verdict is operated from the United States. By using the service, you consent to the transfer and processing of your data in the United States. We honor data subject rights under GDPR (for EU/UK users) and CCPA (for California users).

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified by email if you have an account. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
