Terms of Service

The terms of using Verdict.

Last updated: May 30, 2026

The short version: Verdict is an AI tool that helps you understand documents quickly. It is not a lawyer and does not provide legal advice. Use it as a first-pass review, not as a replacement for an attorney on matters that matter.

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Verdict, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. What Verdict is

Verdict is a software service that uses artificial intelligence to analyze documents you submit and return a structured analysis. That analysis typically includes a summary verdict, identification of potential concerns or clauses worth attention, and suggested next steps.

Important: Verdict is not a law firm. It does not provide legal advice. The output of Verdict is generated by an AI model and is intended as a first-pass analytical tool. The output may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies, and should not be relied upon as legal counsel. For any matter of legal significance, consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Verdict. By using the service, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements.

4. Account and access

5. Subscriptions and payment

VERDICT IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. WE MAKE NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, REGARDING THE OPERATION OF THE SERVICE OR THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR RELIABILITY OF ANY VERDICT OR OUTPUT.

You acknowledge that AI-generated analysis is inherently probabilistic and may produce inaccurate results. You are responsible for verifying the output and exercising independent judgment, including consulting qualified professionals where appropriate.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall Verdict, its operators, employees, or contractors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation loss of profits, data, opportunity, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service.

Our total liability under any theory shall not exceed the greater of one hundred US dollars ($100) or the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Verdict and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of the rights of any third party.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Hampshire, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws provisions.
